Some of my best mates have been in this band called Skirtbox since 1996. In those days, I used to shoot all their gigs and tours with my ratty old hi8 camera. I've always wanted to do something with the footage, so when I was asked to make a test film by Current TV I thought I'd shoot a profile on these guys. The channel actually disapproved of the idea, so we stubbornly went ahead without the commission and made it. In the end they loved it, bought it as an acquisition and its been a regular staple in their schedule ever since.
